We just started the 2023 wedding season and it couldn’t have been better. The truth is that I am very lucky because this couple is undoubtedly very special to me. From the first call with them there has been a brutal connection and trust. As a wedding photographer in Mallorca the fact that they let me be able to use my creativity is very important to me.

They understood this from the first minute and I am very grateful to them. Marina and Jordi are a couple who look at each other with an incredible complicity and love. I was delighted to be able to make their wedding in finca Son Berga Mallorca.

Marina is a woman with a very special artistic sensibility. We have met several times for a drink and I have been able to get to know them better. They have grown up with a restlessness and interest in art that is reflected in their personal style. Both have a lot of charisma and are so authentic that you would like to have them in your life forever.

When Marina showed me the Miguel Angel Company dress she had chosen, I was very happy. She had opted for a two-piece with several changes, very elegant and modern, just as she is. I understood that she was going to lend herself to a certain style of photography that I was very attracted to. For the preparations we agreed to visit the painting studio of her mother’s partner. Marina thought it would be an ideal place to start her big day in an original way and she was right.

When we arrived in Binissalem, where the house and the studio are located, we met the great Mallorcan painter Luis Maraver and Pilar, Marina’s mother. Charming both of them showed us the spaces where we could make the preparations and they only put facilities. It was wonderful to see all the paintings and all the essence of a painting studio. In addition, we met their two little dogs, so cute, they were going to be an important part of the wedding.

A few weeks later we all met again at an exhibition that Luis had at the Rialto Living. There they told us the last details excited and they were already looking forward to the big day.

Time flies by and without further ado we have arrived on the 6th of May with a very summery weather. Jordi was afraid that it might rain and yet happily we woke up with a clear day and a radiant sun for this wedding in finca Son Berga Mallorca.

We went to the house in Binissalem where Luis opened the door smiling and we went upstairs to greet Marina. She and her mother were being touched up by the hairdresser and make-up artist. Being a daytime wedding it starts very early and sometimes that is difficult but Marina was calm. The day before they had had a pre-wedding party with friends at a winery and Marina told us that some of them had already given their all. The bride was looking spectacular with a very elegant updo that went very well with the style of her dress.

We waited for Jordi to come, he was running some last minute errands, we kissed twice and he seemed a little nervous. He had not stopped all morning doing things. Jordi was with his best friend Jan and we took them both to the house across the street where the other part of the studio is.

Jordi had chosen a very nice blue suit with a vest by Ermenegildo Zegna, the Italian designer. The studio is spectacular with a large window upstairs that gave a brutal light. A staircase led to the upper floors open loft, all the walls full of beautiful paintings that I would take home. Undoubtedly a great place with space and light perfect for the preparations of this wedding in finca Son Berga Mallorca.

Little by little with music in the background that went with the vintage motorcycle parked next to us and all the art that surrounded us Jordi started to get dressed. It’s great when you are in a moment like this with your best friend. Whether you like it or not there are always nerves and you need to relax and start enjoying the big day. I had them put on their shoes, vest, tie and jacket doing fun things.

They ended up dancing a twist giving it their all and wanting to continue having a great time. It was a lot of fun, Jordi has a great sense of humor, I love it.

From there we left with the bride who was ready and waiting for us. Her friends and bridesmaids were in the courtyard waiting quietly for us to call them. They wanted to start out all dressed in jeans and dancing converses. Then they changed into the dresses they would be wearing that day and Marina started getting dressed. With her mother’s help, out came the elegant two-piece that was waiting wrapped in its sheath.

Slowly the long fringed skirt came out and the matching sleeved shirt. All buttoned up, it looked as if they had chosen each other, it looked spectacular on her. As if she came out of an antique painting, I was delighted to be able to take the photos I had prepared especially for her. It’s great when they trust me and I can artistically create something original. I had ordered a basket with flowers by Toni Mestre to use in the photos and it was very nice.

I took pictures of her with her friends and her mother toasting with champagne and having a great time. She was also joined by the dogs who in the end she decided to keep them at home because they were very nervous and it was better for them. They were wearing special doggy tuxedos that were very funny. The studio was a perfect setting with all the pictures and paintings, the stains on the floor. I was able to take some of them from the upstairs gallery which gave a different and original angle.

We finished that way and we said goodbye taking the car to go to this wedding in finca Son Berga Mallorca that we all wanted so much.

Once at the finca we greeted Laura from Events by L who was the wedding planner. It is always a pleasure to work with her knowing that everything will be perfect. I also greeted Eli who as always has the finca perfectly maintained and beautiful. This was the first wedding of the season for all of us and we were looking forward to it.

The ceremony area was beautifully decorated with flower baskets made by Toni Mestre from Decoracio Floral y Events. Little by little the 135 guests began to arrive with Jordi greeting everyone. While unseen by him Marina arrived in a beautiful white classic car. Her father was waiting for her with a smile and super happy to see her looking so beautiful. They were going to walk down the aisle together arm in arm both excited.

At the ceremony the bride and groom were to leave each side of the stairs and meet in the middle. So when guests took their places on the chairs and others found theirs under the shade of the tree, it all began.

The meeting between the two of them was very exciting, they were radiant and beautiful, what a couple! Both took a seat together while the mayor, who was the officiant of the wedding, spoke. Two of them sitting hand in hand, it was noticeable that they were calmer, it always happens that way. The most exciting moment came when they spoke to each other in their vows.

Marina recited some of her favorite poems without papers and from memory, she said beautiful things about Jordi and what the relationship means to her. It was incredible, we were all moved and Jordi had a few tears in his eyes. When he got up everyone was telling him to see how he could overcome that. The truth is that he did very well and they love each other very much.

There were several more speeches from close friends, you can tell they are very dear to them. And finally they tied the knot and put on their rings. They all signed as they should and went out to have petals and olive leaves thrown at them. The two gave it their all, already happy and looking forward to the party, dancing with everyone.

Guests were ushered into the claustra area at this wedding at finca Son Berga Mallorca. The couple when they were ready made their entrance and El Jardin catering began to bring out trays with all their appetizers. Everything was delicious as always, undoubtedly one of the best of this island.

As it was very hot and people were looking for shade, they all went to the other cocktail area where they would be more comfortable. There the couple received congratulations from family and friends. Then they moved to the food area in the main cloister.

The couple made a super entrance dancing and giving it all, the guests standing with napkins spinning, it was a great moment. Catering El Jardín offered a menu with veal cheeks with parmetier, very good.

When the meal was almost over, taking advantage of the fact that the sun had gone down, I took the couple and witnesses for some photos. I took them through the orange trees singing and dancing, I loved how they all helped and I got some very funny pictures that I had planned for them.

Alone with Marina and Jordi we took the couple photos in a moment upstairs with the mountain in the background. They were having a great time at their wedding and there were still some surprises. Now on the way back Marina was going to change and dress as a cowgirl and Jordi with Indian feathers on his head. They had prepared a mechanical bull to start the party and they were going to get on it first. It was a lot of fun, we had never had a mechanical bull before and this year we are going to see it at several weddings.

Several of them tried and even Pilar, Marina’s mother, who looks like a young girl, tried it. They ended up on the inflatable floor, both hugging each other and laughing their heads off. The disco and open bar was another great moment with the couple dancing to the top and Jordi was almost thrown by his friends.

We said goodbye to them and thanked them for everything, it had been a great wedding at Son Berga Mallorca.I had had a great time, the two of them are a love and we are sure we will see each other more times for beers. We wish them all the happiness in the world and that they continue making all those incredible trips that make me so envious.
