Wedding at Finca Son Togores
I have been wanting to have a wedding at Finca Son Togores for a long time. I was lucky enough to be able to do it this year for this amazing couple Kate and Olie.
As I always like to do, I took advantage of an occasion when they came to Mallorca to meet them. We met at the Finca to see it together and they told me all the plans they had.
As soon as I saw them we liked each other very much. From the moment we spoke on the phone I noticed how friendly and nice they are. In person they are even more so and they are a beautiful couple that you can see how much they love each other.
For this wedding at finca Son Togores the plans they had were very simple, to have a good time with their loved ones. I think that’s the smartest thing to do for a wedding. They wanted something simple and elegant without too many things happening to distract them from their goal.
Beautiful venue Son Togores
The Finca Son Togores is marvellous and very well looked after. It has several comfortable spaces that allow guests to move around as the wedding progresses. Kate and Olie told us that they didn’t want any photos of the preparations so I was very keen to arrange something elegant for them for their wedding at Son Togores.
Wedding at Finca Son Togores
As if it were not enough, time went by since that day and the 27th of May arrived. This year has been a little warmer than others and since May we have already entered the typical heat of the island.
It was morning and the sun was hiding and rising through the clouds as if playing with everyone. We drove to the finca and saw when we arrived how in the ceremony area everything was already being prepared.
The caterer was going to be Marc Fosh which we love because of the high quality of their dishes and the professionalism with which they work.
We greeted Ana from The Nakar Group who was in charge of all the organisation and informed us of some details. Everything was ready for a great wedding at Finca Son Togores.
Reception of guests at Finca Son Togores
We saw Olie who appeared through the door smiling and very smart in a black dinner jacket. He has lived in Spain for many years and has learned Spanish very well. His relationship with Mallorca is very strong which was one of the reasons why they were getting married on the island.
We greeted him with a kiss and were happy to see each other again. When Kate saw him she was going to be thrilled, he looked so handsome.
Intimate wedding
Little by little the guests started to arrive, it was going to be an intimate wedding with only 60 guests. I like intimate weddings the most because I know that the bride and groom will enjoy everything much more. They will have time to greet everyone with time without stress, there are those who have to be there, no commitments.
Once everyone arrived, they settled into the chairs set up in the cobbled courtyard with the help of Ana from The Nakar Group. It is a magical place with amazing vines climbing up the stone walls and a beautiful wooden gate. The celebrant was to be Ulf who was already prepared for this beautiful wedding.
Olie wanted to wait at the altar for Kate so he took his position and all that was left was for her to arrive. He had advised us that the hire cars they had hired had had a problem. So he and the bride had to take taxis which is unusual but it is difficult to get everything perfect at a wedding…
Ceremony at Finca Son Togores
Kate’s taxi arrived on time and she got out with her best friend who was helping her. She told us that the taxi driver asked her where they were going and she said: “To my wedding”! Which was funny…
She was incredibly elegant, with the perfect make-up and hairstyle, very natural like herself. She had a smile that lit up her face and wouldn’t go away all day.
We prepared for her entrance and you could see Olie’s eyes all excited when he saw her. It is always one of the most tender moments. The ceremony went on with several guests talking about the couple and a moment where they stuck nails in a box with a special meaning. At the end they made a happy exit.
I took them to take some photos of the couple in this wedding at Finca Son Togores by the trees and then in the main hall.
They were both together happy and super elegant enjoying each other.
Cocktail and banquet
It was time for the cocktail reception with a guitarist playing Spanish music. This part of the finca is also very beautiful with a swimming pool, incredible views of the mountains and the Mallorcan countryside. At times it felt like we were at a wedding in Tuscany.
The caterer Marc Fosh was bringing trays with appetizers and all the guests were really enjoying themselves.
There were a few speeches near the end that got everyone excited and laughing, there was a lot of happiness all around us. They did their first dance with everyone watching them as they twirled around looking at each other. They are a beautiful couple who love each other very much.
We moved on to the banquet area which was impeccably decorated with Francis Garcia flowers and wonderful garlands of lights. One of the most important things for me at a wedding is good light. So that the final result of my work is perfect and to create a beautiful atmosphere.
That’s why I always give all my couples recommendations about this beforehand so that everyone is happy. At this wedding the lighting was perfect and with the beautifully kept lawns we were having a great time.
Emotional and funny speeches
There were several speeches from friends and family, but one in particular stood out. One of Kate’s best friends dedicated the song “Simply the best” to her after her speech. She started and suddenly everyone was on their feet singing it and it was incredible. A magical moment with that chorus that I will always remember.
Party time at Finca Son Togores
After dinner we went to the disco area, where Lo Music was in charge of the music, making it perfect as always. Before the party they told me that they wanted to do something original. They had hired a make-up artist to paint the faces. So Kate and Ollie painted their faces and they looked like a Hallowen bride and groom, very funny. That’s how the dancing and the party started.
We said goodbye to them and everyone and wished them all the happiness in the world. They were great and we loved this wedding at Son Togores.
