The start of a new wedding season is always very exciting. After a few months of couples contacting me and wanting each other, the big day arrives. I always like to personalise each wedding, to know all the details, not just the photography. I always try to meet up with everyone and get to know each other, have a coffee or a beer. That’s why this first wedding was amazing and we all had such a good time. They chose Son Togores for their wedding in Mallorca, without a doubt one of my favourite Fincas on the island.

Elisa and Ian are from California, USA and have chosen the island to gather their families and best friends. As I always say it’s almost the only event where you are going to have a big party and celebrate with all of them. I met them last year and we did a video call where we immediately had a great connection. I loved how excited they were and how much they wanted to have a good time. Also, we met in person a few months later when they came to see it all.

They are a very nice, cheerful and beautiful couple who met 5 years ago. Since they graduated from university in California, they have known each other very well. Their love is very strong and they have a great chemistry, they are perfect for each other.

Wedding photography in Mallorca

Their wedding was to be held in May, the best month with September to get married here because it is not too hot yet. They wanted to have a welcome party for their guests the day before and wanted me to photograph the event. It was at the Balneario de Illetas, an ideal place to start what would be their big moment. We met there and when we saw each other hugged, happy that what they had planned so much had arrived.

Little by little the guests arrived and we were able to meet them and enjoy a beautiful evening. The Balneario de Illetas with its friendly and professional staff is undoubtedly perfect for this type of event. Besides having the beach next door with those views it was a great evening. We arranged to meet the next day which was going to be very exciting. The morning dawned with beautiful sunshine, perfect for Son Togores wedding in Mallorca.

Maria from Mc.eventplanner was in charge of organizing this wedding and she had everything perfectly under control. For the video I had Quatrelemens with Paz and Pepllu who are always wonderful to work with and I love their work. The catering was Marc Fosh, which is fantastic because they always do great food and everything is delicious. The music was provided by Lo Music, a safe bet to guarantee the best music. And the decoration was by Mi evento who do some really wonderful things and I love them.

First we went to the Hotel Summum in the centre of Palma’s old town. The two rooms were separated by a hall. This hotel is one of the most beautiful around with spectacular decoration in the rooms and lounges.

We greeted the groom and all the groomsmen who were with him including parents. We then went to the bride who was having her hair and make up done by Izzy Gunkel. She was beaming with a big smile surrounded by her bridesmaids, her mother and Ian’s mother.

We started with Ian in his room who was going to wear a very elegant black dinner jacket and everyone else the same. It was definitely going to be a very elegant and classy wedding.

He was smiling all the time, excited and happy, they had planned everything with great enthusiasm and the big day was here.

I had something special planned for him as I wanted two of Elisa’s friends to participate. I had them come in bathrobes and opened a bottle of cava with Ian. They jumped on the bed, danced and had a great time. Ian’s nerves were definitely taken away during that moment. Then I made everyone who was waiting outside come in and I took pictures of them together in the room and in the lounge next door. It’s a beautiful all-wooden room with a spectacular huge fireplace.

Ian was particularly looking forward to a little book where he had written his vows and for that I used my new analogue camera. I have a new lens that I love and I use it for magical occasions like these. With Elisa I used it later for a moment during the wedding.

We arranged to meet Ian at the welcome drink and we went with the bride. She was already made up and her hair was spectacular, without a doubt very natural and she didn’t need any more than that. With her Asian features she is without doubt one of the most beautiful brides I have ever had. We started by taking pictures of her and all her bridesmaids, I wanted her to have as much fun as Ian did.

I knew her room had a super bathtub so I put her in there with her heels and curls. I wanted her to uncork a bottle of cava and she told me it was the first time she had ever done it, there was no better occasion. When she suddenly opened it, we were all flooded with foam, it was very spontaneous and she gave us a hilarious photo.

Then we continued with her bridesmaids taking pictures with that beautiful Italian painted ceiling. We had a great time while her mother helped her put on her dress. When we finished we said goodbye happily looking forward to Son Togores wedding in Mallorca.

We arrived at the Finca entering this beautiful road surrounded by trees. It is always a pleasure to come here, it feels like you are in the Majorcan Tuscany, everything is so well kept and beautiful. The guests were already arriving in the buses and had Japanese umbrellas waiting for them. They were great for photos and at the same time they were protected from the sun. Ian was greeting everyone happily and looking forward to the ceremony.

Everything was so beautifully decorated for My Event, with flowers everywhere. The fountain area I had never seen so spectacular and elegant. It was full of flowers inside and the tables were beautiful. Maria from Mc eventplanner and her colleagues took the guests to the ceremony area which was about to start. It was to be held in the stone courtyard with the tower overlooking everything.

The father was about to perform the ceremony and gradually everyone took their seats. Ian made his entrance alone and prepared to see Elisa enter. First came the bridesmaids who had accompanied the bride to the finca. They took their seats and all stood for the entrance. Then Elisa did so on her father’s arm, happily looking at Ian from the first moment. When she arrived at the altar they both greeted each other in complete excitement, they looked amazing. A light wind made its appearance and the veil moved giving more beauty to the scene.

The ceremony was very beautiful and there were some speeches, Elisa’s brothers and sisters shed a few tears and it was inevitable. They read each other’s vows with little old books, put on their rings and said ‘I do’. The exit was like a movie, especially when Ian grabbed Elisa and kissed her with her almost lying down. Everyone on their feet was throwing happy petals at them.

At that moment, while the guests were going to the cocktail area, we took the opportunity to take the family photos. Then I took them with Quatrelemens Paz and Pepllu to do the couple session. They were relaxed and together and had a great time and as we had already prepared the photos from before I was quick. I don’t like to be away for an hour with the couples and have them miss part of their wedding.

We took advantage of part of the gardens and the inside of the hall which I love. They let me use my creativity for all the photos which was wonderful and we were able to do very original things. Even a chupachup was the protagonist in Son Togores wedding in Mallorca.

The cocktail party was held in the pool area with everyone enjoying Marc Fosh’s catering. His waiters came and went with delicacies on their trays between the groups with lively conversation.

Then it was time to move on to the banquet area. They made their entrance through the wooden doors and waved down to sit at the wedding table. The dinner was spectacular with a risotto and sirloin steak afterwards which was enjoyed by all.

When they finished Ian and Elisa appeared at the top of the stairs for the first dance. They did it super well with a big kiss at the end. They cut the cake and she changed her dress for this last part of the wedding, she looked stunning.

We all went to the disco area and of course I danced with the bride. But this time without expecting it, she was the one who asked me to dance, which was great. I took her in my arms and twirled her around because they had been an incredible couple who had trusted me for everything. I thanked them and wished them all the happiness in the world, I hope to see them again very soon. Without a doubt this has been a wedding in Son Togores Mallorca to remember forever.
