I usually do a lot of books to children and as a photographer in Mallorca I love it. I get a lot of joy from their innocence and their desire to just enjoy doing new things. Mothers are usually present and like to see their children in front of the camera. Many times they are photo shoots for a children’s book for modeling agencies. Others are souvenir photos that they will have for the rest of their lives at that particular age.
In this post I am going to show you another type of photos since they are pregnancy sessions in Mallorca.
When they call me to ask me for this kind of sessions it seems like such a good idea. There are many moments in a woman’s life that deserve to be remembered and taking pictures is the best way. I think pregnancy is one of the best and most beautiful moments.

Having decided to have a child, changes occur in a woman’s body and sometimes it is not easy. You have to try to manage everything in the best way and women are superwoman in that. They know that at the end of the nine months they are going to see the face of that little person they have created. There is nothing so beautiful. To be able to photograph that moment in life for me is super special. That’s why I love pregnancy sessions in Mallorca.
I am going to show you two that I have had lately and that reflect very well the magic of this moment. First we have a couple that I know very well. I was going to be their wedding photographer in Mallorca before the pandemic and we had to postpone it until this year. Finally they will be able to do it and they also have a new member in the family. Marga got pregnant and gave birth a few months ago to the beautiful Carina. So this year their wedding is going to be one of the most beautiful I have.

Before giving birth she decided with her partner Adolfo to take some pictures of herself pregnant. I thought it was a beautiful idea and that it would reflect the whole story of them from pregnancy to the wedding. Then months later came the best part, which is taking pictures of the newborn every month, but that’s for another post.
So one day we met in a beautiful place on this island to do the pregnancy session in Mallorca for the three of them. Marga is one of those women who has everything ready and is very determined. I love the way she is with a personality that knows what she wants and goes for it. She is a professional in her work and as a mother I have no doubt that she is an example.
So when she decided to trust me as her photographer in Mallorca for these special photos I was very happy. I had prepared the session as I always do with great care and wanting them to have the best possible memories.

They had brought several wardrobe changes and little things, as we changed from one place to another they changed too. The place was one of the most beautiful corners of Mallorca. There is forest and beach with rocks and incredible views. Everything went perfect and I tried to be as fast as I could. I didn’t want them to get too tired knowing that it is not easy in an advanced pregnancy. They loved the final result and now they have some pictures to show their daughter in the future that they are sure she will love.
Another pregnancy session in Mallorca that I had was for this couple who live in Amsterdam. They were coming to the island on vacation for a few days and she contacted me. She wanted to have a memory of her pregnancy with photos taken by a professional photographer in Mallorca. I loved the idea and we agreed on a day and a specific place.

She and her husband came punctually to the appointment with a bag of clothes to change into. She had already seen other pregnancy sessions in Mallorca that I had done and loved the photos. They were staying in the village of Valldemossa for a week and had already been to the island a few times.
She was quite advanced in her pregnancy and they told me that they already knew the sex of the baby. They were expecting a girl and that made them very happy. Precisely these days here they were going to decide the name of the baby. Taking advantage of the fact that they are relaxing on vacation. He said that at first he preferred it to be a boy but then he was very excited about it being a girl.

We started the session that was going to take place on the beach and then in a part with dunes behind. As it is not yet high season the beaches are not very crowded and that gives a lot of play to take pictures at ease. First I started taking pictures of them together and then of her alone. As I know it is not easy to get in front of the camera I was telling them what they had to do. It was a little more difficult for him but he did it very well.
The sun was setting and the light was spectacular in this area of the island. We had a surprise visit from some horses that were walking along the beach. I immediately asked them if they could pose for a picture and it came out super nice and we loved catching that moment.
Then we continued and she wanted me to take some more artistic photos of her in the water and even though it was a little cold we did it. I love it when they trust my work and follow my advice. We ended the session with a kiss and looking forward to hearing from them when the baby is born and we meet again. They leave with great memories in the form of photos that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
