I have said it before and it is true, with this job as a photographer in Mallorca I am lucky to be able to meet a lot of people. It’s something I love and I know that otherwise it might not be like that. Moreover, there is often a special connection and a very nice relationship is created. This has led me to become a pregnancy photographer in Mallorca today.

A few years ago I met a couple from Portland in the United States who wanted to have a couple photo shoot in Mallorca. They are Ryan and Sophie, they lived in Mallorca because he is a professional basketball player. It is the place where their love started a few years ago so it is very special for them. Ryan has travelled the world playing and he signed up for a team here. That’s when I did that couple session for them and then they moved to other cities.
Now they are back again as he is playing here and as they love the island they have even bought a house. They got married less than a year ago and plan to live here or at least spend a lot of their lives in Mallorca. They are a couple that when you meet them you know they belong together. Besides being super friendly and charming when they look at each other they do it with a lot of love.

As we followed each other on Instagram I already knew that they were pregnant and expecting their first child. So when Sophie told me that she wanted me to be her pregnancy photographer in Mallorca I was very excited. We arranged to meet up one afternoon in May in one of the most beautiful coves on the island. She is already in her eighth month so there was no time to lose. The spring has been very good although in the afternoons it gets cooler when the sun goes down. We arranged to meet at a time when we knew that the beach would be almost deserted.
When we saw each other in the car park we gave hugs and kisses, it was so good to see them again. It’s as if we had followed their great love story and now they were going to be parents which is incredibly nice. Sophie looked beautiful with that smile she always has and happy as there was not much time left to see her son’s face. Ryan had left his hair a little long and made a ninja ponytail for the session which looked great.

They had brought several wardrobe changes so they would have different looks. The sun was setting behind the mountains and I took advantage of the last rays to use the stool I had brought for them and take their first photos. I love being a pregnancy photographer in Mallorca it is always a very special moment. These photos I know will be a great memory and when time goes by they will look back on them and remember that moment in their lives.
I recently took pregnancy photos in Mallorca for one of the brides I married last year. I was also very excited because I met them just before they got married. Their wedding was spectacular and they gave their all that day which was beautiful. Then to find out that she had become pregnant was a great joy. And even more so when she told me that she wanted me to be her pregnancy photographer in Mallorca. It is like photographing a very special cycle and being part of it. Well, now it’s the same and they are also couples that I love and during the session I have a great time.

Pregnancy photographer in Mallorca
After the first photos we went to the shore, the people had already left. The beach was deserted, which was perfect. Besides, there was a very nice light to take all the pictures I wanted to take of them. I had taken the new analogue camera I had bought for this season. I really wanted to try film photography and I had already taken some on my trip to Japan. It was the perfect moment to use it again and give it to them as a souvenir.
They were relaxed and happy, as a pregnancy photographer in Mallorca I know that it can be difficult for the expectant mother. However Sophie knew exactly how to pose and everything came out very natural. I found Ryan very relaxed compared to the first time I took his photos. He now has that calmness and naturalness that comes with age and he looked very happy. I made them walk along the shore and play with the water, and even had Ryan pretend to take pictures of her.

I laid them down on the sand and they were very sweet cuddling looking at each other full of love. We did some costume changes and Sophie wanted to go in the water even though it was a bit cold. It’s still not quite summer and as the sun is going down it’s quite cool. She held up well and those photos came out beautifully.
When it was almost getting dark we finished the pregnancy session in Mallorca. It had been great to be part of this beautiful phase in their lives. We hugged and I wished them all the best. They can’t wait to see their son’s face and I’m sure they are going to be great parents. I look forward to seeing them again and meeting him.
