This couple of girls were coming to Mallorca on vacation. One of them contacted me to organize everything. She wanted to surprise her partner and make everything very special. She was very clear that she wanted it to be a magical marriage proposal in Mallorca.
We agreed that we would pretend that she had booked a couple’s photo session. It would be like a gift that she would give to her during the vacations to have a great memory. What her partner didn’t know is that we had organized everything to make it perfect. As a photographer in Mallorca I know very romantic and unique places.
I had talked it all over beforehand to meet up one afternoon at one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. When we arrived they were both very excited because it was the first time they were going to have professional photos taken. They are two young girls who have been together for several years and look very much in love. They live in Poland where unfortunately gay marriage is forbidden.

They had come to Mallorca on vacation for a few days and had already visited many parts of the island. We started the photo session calmly chatting trying to get them used to the camera. As a photographer in Mallorca I know that it is not easy to get in front of a camera for the first time. Many times people get nervous and don’t know how to act or what to do. They think they have to do a series of poses as if they were models.
With me it’s the opposite, I like naturalness and movement. I tried to make them have fun doing things all the time. Besides, they were happy and were enjoying every minute of it.
Regardless of the chosen location, a proposal in Mallorca always involves an engagement ring. This symbol of love is presented to the couple in an exciting moment full of expectation. It can be a personalized jewel or a family ring with a special sentimental value. I had agreed that at a precise moment she would receive a sign from me and it would be then when she would be given it.

As a photographer in Mallorca I am used to organize the timing very well. I knew when the sunset was and I wanted everything to be perfect.
The evening was beautiful with incredible light and a cloudless sky for a magical sunset. The two girls had brought long black dresses with sandals. They were both elegant and very playful. I took them between the dunes for some photos running, others sitting down. I also had them climb up a dune where they had to roll all the way down hugging each other. It was a very funny moment.
We arrived at the beach area which was spectacular. The sun was almost hiding behind and the sea with beautiful waves. There was no one on the beach at that time and surfers in the distance were enjoying the sea. It was an ideal setting for this marriage proposal in Mallorca.
I signaled one of them to take the ring from her purse. Before that I had the other one turn around so she wouldn’t see it in the meantime. I positioned myself so I could capture the moment and so did she. Then with all the excitement I gave the signal for her to turn around. It was beautiful, one with her knee on the floor and the ring and the other with a surprised face all excited.

Of course she said yes and they gave each other a happy hug. She couldn’t believe it, with the ring on her finger she was smiling and crying at the same time. While the sun was setting and there was a spectacular orange sky. It was a very romantic marriage proposal in Mallorca.
I congratulated them both and took a few more pictures. I was delighted to be able to witness so much love. We had spent a beautiful evening full of emotions and joy. I thank them for having trusted me as their photographer in Mallorca. They have a precious memory for life and I wish them all the happiness in the world.
