We have just experienced the month of June in which LGBT pride is celebrated in different ways. Unfortunately, even today we still have to demand rights and freedoms because in many countries being gay is condemned. Here in Spain it has been allowed for several years. However, the first country in the world to legalise gay weddings was Ireland in 2015. I have been an LGTB wedding photographer in Mallorca and today I present you these two incredible Irish women.

We met by video call as I like it better than a phone call. We immediately had a great connection and I loved their energy. They told me all the ideas they had for their wedding and you could see how excited they were. When they came to Mallorca we arranged to meet in person. They had chosen one of my favourite fincas Son Mesquida Nou, so we met there.

Photographer in Mallorca

We hugged and met some of their family who had come with them. Toured the finca to see the different spaces and plan everything. As a photographer in Mallorca I like to personalise every couple and every wedding. They are charming, always with a smile and very beautiful. We were really looking forward to the big day.

This summer we are very lucky as it is not as hot as last year. We were a little afraid that as the wedding was in June we would all be too hot. However, the day woke up as half cloudy with a very nice breeze. We arrived at the Finca Son Mesquida Nou where we had the beautiful wedding of two boys in 2022. Here we have always had beautiful weddings that we have enjoyed very much.

For this LGBT wedding in Mallorca we were going to work with a great team. In the video were the wonderful Sarts Productions, Dani and Sandra with whom we have a great friendship. They are great professionals and people, it is always a pleasure to do weddings together. Joanna from Tot a Punt was in charge of the organisation and catering. With them we know that everything will be perfect and that it will be a great wedding. In addition, there was Marga Gomila as florist, and Panela in the music. It couldn’t have been better.

We went to say hello to Aisling and Niamh the brides. They had just arrived and were putting their things in their rooms. They were going to do a first look so first we had to do the preparations for each of them separately. First we started with Aisling who was quite nervous with her sister. This always happens in the preparations with couples. It’s quite normal and having a glass of cava is the best way to do it, apart from that I always try to make everything fun.

Between putting on her dress and the rest, she seemed calmer and she was looking forward to seeing everyone. Then we went with Niamh who seemed calmer. They both had spectacular dresses, when they saw each other for the first time it was going to be beautiful.

We organised it all to be held in a place with a beautiful bougainvillea in bloom. It gave a very romantic air and the occasion deserved it. We made one wait for the other and when they turned around it was great. Aisling said she didn’t expect Niamh’s outfit to be like that. It was off the shoulder and had wing-like sleeves that hung down, they both looked beautiful. They kissed each other carefully so as not to spoil the make-up and they were more relaxed.

Then we moved on to the ceremony where all the guests were being directed to. It was going to be in the part covered by plants and the big bougainvillea. As an LGBT wedding photographer in Mallorca I always like that area. They were all in the shade and the air was really nice and it wasn’t hot. The ceremony was going to be officiated by a friend of the couple and I always find it a good idea to be more intimate.

Two brides wedding in Mallorca

First the mothers of both brides and bridesmaids made their entrance with the girls and the petals. Then each bride on the arm of her father. They gave each other an emotional kiss as they stood at the altar. There were a couple of readings from friends and family, the rings were exchanged and they left happy hand in hand. We took the opportunity to take some family photos which is always best to do then. That way they are all there and while the guests are having their aperitif I take them quickly. Then we went with the girls to take the couple photos.

I love the light at Finca Son Mesquida Nou, especially down in the countryside with the sun shining against the light. We brought a bottle of cava and glasses that we took advantage of so they could uncork it and have a good time. They were happy and at ease, the truth is that you can tell that they love each other very much and as an LGBT wedding photographer in Mallorca I love this. We left quickly for the aperitif and they made the entrance between hugs and congratulations. Tot a Punt catering had several food stations prepared and the most successful was the croquettes without a doubt.

They had live music with one of my favourite Panela singers, Aina Zanoguera, providing the soundtrack with her art. The guests were spread out around the pool area and the lawn under a Bedouin tent they had put up. As the weather is very strange, the couple didn’t want to take any risks. This way they also avoided the sun and the heat when it came out.

When the time came, we moved on to the banquet, which of course was to be held in the large courtyard of the esplanade. A guitarist playing flamenco entertained the dinner which made it all very magical. There were several speeches from parents, relatives and the couple giving thanks and talking about them. At the end we went to the disco area where they did the first dance and stayed to enjoy the party. The saxophonist Ramon Riera was there to give the touch of live music that had been a constant in this wedding.

We thanked the couple and left wishing them all the love and happiness in the world. I had loved being the photographer at this LGBT wedding in Mallorca. I hope to see them again very soon on the island.
