Last week I had one of the most amazing weddings I have experienced as a wedding photographer in Mallorca. I met Ali and Andre this couple from Charlotte in North Carolina a year ago. The bride’s father Chris and her mother Lori were personally in charge of all the details. The first thing they had in mind was to have the wedding at one of the most spectacular Fincas in Mallorca, Finca Son Marroig. I thought it was fantastic as having done weddings there I knew it could be amazing.

We had a video call where they told me all their ideas and expectations. I love it if I can’t have a meeting in person to be able to have that direct contact. It is very important to have that good feeling on both sides because it is a unique occasion. We are going to share many moments and getting to know each other beforehand is the main thing for me. I immediately found them charming and above all I loved their desire to have a great intimate celebration with their loved ones at Finca Son Marroig.

Chris and Lori came to Mallorca to take care of many details that the couple for work reasons could not do. We arranged to meet at the same Finca Son Marroig with the wedding planner who was going to be Vanessa de Juliets. They could not have chosen better because I have been lucky enough to work with her and her team many times. She is synonymous of professionalism and besides she is a great person, the couples that she has at the end get to build a great friendship with her. So we all got together one day so we could get to know each other in person.

We gave a big hug when we saw each other, I was very happy to be their photographer in Mallorca. We saw the different locations and planned already then several things for the big day. The date would be the first week of September, one of the best months to get married on the island without a doubt.

Time went by and after several more meetings and emails with information we had everything organized. The day before they were going to have a welcome party with all the guests at the Hotel Hospes Maricel where they were staying. They wanted me to be their photographer in Mallorca to cover that moment, it is always something I like to do. That way I meet the guests the day before and there is like a connection with everyone and more trust is created the day of the wedding.

That evening Ali was dressed in a spectacular red dress and Andre was very elegant in white. Everyone enjoyed the views and the magnificent terrace of the Hotel Hospes Maricel. The guests were all dressed in white, there were several speeches from friends and bridesmaids. Andre’s father’s speech stood out, visibly moved and grateful to everyone for being there. I left knowing that the wedding the next day at Finca Son Marroig was going to be something very magical.

That week the weather in Mallorca was being a little strange and we had doubts about whether it was going to rain or not. We went to make the preparations at the Hotel Hospes Maricel with great enthusiasm and hoping that everything would go well. In the hall I met Lucía Zima who had just finished doing the bride’s hair and make-up. It had been a long time since we had seen each other and she told me that she was sure that great pictures would come out of this wedding.

When we opened the door to Ali’s room they all welcomed me with their arms up in the air. They were very happy to see me, the first time this has ever happened in such a way. From that moment on I knew that whatever happened it was going to be a fantastic day. Ali was beautiful, if she is already beautiful by herself, Lucia Zima had made her look spectacular. She was wearing a beautiful glamorous gown and I immediately thought of a lot of special pictures to take with her. First I wanted to do what I already had in mind with her bridesmaids.

They all put towels on their heads and with the sunglasses I took them to the pool below. There was a very good energy and they helped me with the organization since time is money in weddings. They had a great time uncorking a bottle of cava and some great pictures came out, it was a good start. The sky was starting to cloud over with dark clouds and a strong wind was blowing.

We went up to the room and on the terrace I put them all with the newspapers made for the occasion. Suddenly it started to rain and we got in with a lot of laughter. Any bride would have made a drama but Ali took it super well nobody and nothing could ruin this day for her.

I put her in the large window of her room overlooking an ocean and a stormy sky, it was amazing. Her energy and personality clicked with my vision of what I wanted to do in photos. It was incredible that the light was so special with the sky black with clouds and the thunder sounding. I will never forget that moment as a photographer in Mallorca. Then I made them all happy to get on the bed and with her and Andre’s moms they jumped all over the bed.

The bride with the help of her mother put on the dress that was beautiful from the firm Berta and fit her perfectly with the body she has. No doubt Andre was going to be thrilled to see her. We said goodbye and arranged to meet at Finca Son Marroig to continue with the preparations.

We ran out praying that it would not rain but when we arrived at Finca Son Marroig we were told that it had been pouring until recently. Arantxa Rustarazo, for me the best videographer in Mallorca, was already there. We were going to work together on this wedding which for me is fantastic as I love it. We greeted Vanessa from Juliets and they told us that they had to move all the dinner tables to plan B which was in the upstairs hall. Besides, the cocktail party was going to be in the front clastra. There was nothing to do but luckily the ceremony could be held in the dome and in the sun.

The thing about weddings and organization is that luckily we had Vanessa organizing everything. So when the bride arrived we took her upstairs to take a photo and video with her bridesmaids. She looked beautiful and ready for the big wedding. Then we went with Andre and his groomsmen who were all in tuxedos and the groom was very elegant in a white jacket tuxedo. Definitely a very stylish wedding.

We prepared for the ceremony after the guests arrived and they were admiring the beauty of the site as they entered. Without a doubt it is spectacular and especially on this day the light filtered from the clouds with the rain that had fallen made everything even more magical. Swite Duo was going to play live with their violin and guitar, without a doubt a great soundtrack for this day. Lo Music also put their great professionalism throughout the wedding.

The bridesmaids and the groom entered with his mother on his arm and prepared to wait for Ali at the altar. A priest friend of theirs was going to conduct the ceremony. Ali appeared on the arm of his father Chris, undoubtedly one of the most exciting moments. Andre had a smile on his face and it was hard not to shed a tear when he saw her so beautiful. When they got together it was perfect to see the two of them, they make an incredible couple.

The ceremony was very nice with the priest talking about them. They said their vows, said their I do’s, put on the ring and walked out with a big smile giving each other a Hollywood style kiss. We all went to the cocktail party wanting to congratulate the couple.

The caterer for this wedding was El Jardin catering without a doubt one of the best on the island. I always love working with them. On the human, professional and gastronomic level everything is top quality. They were already passing the trays with the incredible appetizers that they always prepare. This wedding at Finca Son Marroig had the best possible team.

I took a moment to do the couple photos during the sunset and with the Porsche 356 convertible rented for the occasion. Undoubtedly a beautiful couple that is made for each other very in love and very elegant. We returned to the cocktail party where they enjoyed their friends and family before going to dinner.

The tables were beautiful with flowers and decorations by Enesenciadesign who had managed to create a magical atmosphere. They took their seats and there were several speeches where the bride’s father Chris made a remarkable one. Without a doubt he looked happy to have made his daughter’s dream come true by having the wedding that any bride would dream of. In the end everything had gone perfectly and they would have the best memory of this day.

After dinner we went to the disco where the couple did their first dance surrounded by all the guests. There were balloon lights and sparklers all around, then the bride danced with her father and the groom with his mother. They were happy and everyone joined in the dancing. We said goodbye to the couple thanking them for everything. We wish them all the happiness in the world and hopefully we can meet again when they come back to the island. Without a doubt it was a magical wedding at Finca Son Marroig that I will never forget.
