Anniversary photos in Mallorca
Without a doubt one of the things I like most about my profession as a photographer in Mallorca is meeting people. I am lucky enough to be contacted from all over the world to take pictures of them. This time it was very special because they came from the United States. A couple living in California to have anniversary photos in Mallorca.
When we spoke on the phone they told me that it was their tenth anniversary and that they were coming to Mallorca to celebrate it. I thought it was very sweet and a beautiful moment to take some very special couple photos. We met one day in May in the magical village of Valldemossa, a perfect setting.
Just at 19.00 they appeared, they are Ria and Vivek, they brought on their faces a smile that would not leave them all evening. They were dressed very smartly, she in a long pale pink dress with Louboutin heels and a red trench coat.
He was wearing a blue jacket and dark gray pants, white shirt and very original shoes. We kissed twice, I love it when I can meet my clients in person after so many messages and phone calls. They were charming and very polite, you could see in their looks how much they love each other.

We went into the Cappuccino Grand Café for them to sit and have a few cocktails. They chose two Espresso Martini cocktails that are very fashionable at weddings in Mallorca. This last time I went to Montpellier I tried them and they are really delicious. So I started taking pictures of them while they toasted and drank happily.
They began to tell me that it was their first time in Spain and that they were really liking Mallorca. Ria and Vivek were staying in Palma at the Hotel El Llorenc and had rented a car to explore the island. Had caught some rain the previous afternoon in Deia, the truth is that May is being a bit weird.
Ria was a little afraid that just on the day of the anniversary photos in Mallorca it would rain. I am very lucky with these things and it never rains at weddings or photo shoots. It only rained once at a wedding and I took advantage of the moment to take romantic couple photos under a raincoat running.
When we finished at the Cappuccino Grand Café we went for a walk through the streets of Valldemossa. At the top next to the Carthusian monastery there is a beautiful garden like a maze full of roses that I love. There was just incredible light with the sun half hiding in the trees. I had them do various things among the big hedges and they had a great time. They were telling me that she is a doctor and he is a brand manager. They live in California exactly in Fresno. Between San Francisco and Los Angeles, about two hours from the sea.

I told them that we had been to New York a year and a half ago and loved it. She had been living there for two years and loved it. However, he doesn’t like it so much and said something funny and that is that he kind of smelled like reefer all the time which is true. Vivek was thrilled with Noah my little dog since he loves dogs so much, he said that someday they would have one. While we continued through other streets of the village very typical with its stone houses and flower pots.
From there we all agreed to go by car to one of the best sunsets in the world without a doubt. We were going to continue these anniversary photos in Mallorca in Sa Foradada. When we arrived the parking lot was already half full, it is such a popular place that you have to go with time if you want to park well.
I took them to a special, secret spot so that both they and I could have privacy during the photos. They really enjoyed it and I even made them dance a twist among the centenary olive trees. Then I wanted them to have a romantic moment watching the sunset since it was their anniversary. The sun was slowly setting in a magical way and we were in the perfect place to capture it all. They were going to take with them a great memory of their trip to Mallorca.

When we got back to the car they were happy with everything we had experienced. I tried to help them with places to eat the rest of the days. It was funny to know the different schedules they have in their country. Ria explained to us that she gets up very early in the morning since she starts work at 7 am. Of course she leaves early in the evening at 17.00 I think she said. They usually have dinner around 18.30 and by 21.00 they are in bed to sleep. So the Spanish meal schedule for them is very difficult.
I sent them a few places around Palma and the island that if they had time they should try. They as kind as they are invited us to visit them at their home in California. Hopefully someday that trip will come true and so we said goodbye with two kisses. It had been a pleasure to take their anniversary photos in Mallorca. They are a great couple that I was delighted to meet and I wish them all the happiness in the world. Surely we will see each other again on another occasion.
